The answer should never be, "I was told to."
When you go against the norm, most people flinch. They don't understand how you could make the decision to NOT follow normal protocols.
Well, I used to. I used to do exactly as I was told. I listened to the powers that be. I followed along with the societal norms.
That was, up until I was asked about it. In that moment, when I realized that I did it just because someone told me to, I realized that my reasoning was rather sheepish. So, I wanted to get to the core of it. I wanted to prove why it worked the way that it did. I was going to show them the science behind it all.
I researched. I compared. I studied statistics from countries all around the world. I went through scientific research, studies, ingredients, and medical issues. I poured every ounce of effort I had into years of research. I slept, ate, and breathed the information.
I wanted so badly to not see what I was seeing.
When you see it, you can't unsee it. You then become a social pariah.
At least, that's what happened 15 years ago.
Now is the time for the truth to be unveiled because society is seeing what few saw years ago. Society is coming to terms with the fact that we live within a world that isn't what we once believed it to be.
I do things different and I get pushback because of it. I just flat don't care. I do what I do because I know that I did the research. I can give you one reason after the next for why I do what I do. Can you say the same about why you follow the norm? Do you truly understand why you do what YOU do?
I'm not saying that you have to be like me. No way! It takes all kinds to make the world go round. What I am saying is this, don't do it just because you were "Told To".
