Who Are We?

Welcome to The Kiley Farm. We are a small family owned farm that believes deeply in living as natural as possible.

Here on The Kiley Farm, every thing we create, every animal that we raise, all of the things that we do are done with one thing in mind.... "Do I want that in my body?" If the answer is no, then we don't use it.

How did we get here?

The worst part about human nature is that change typically only comes after you have experienced something jolting enough that it shakes you to your core.

While, we are very private people and we prefer not to display our challenges, I will say this, neurological issues are no joke.

I was always one of those people that didn't care about the toxins in products. I would say, "Everything causes cancer. Just enjoy life while you can." While there was some truth to that, it bothers me that I was so short sighted in my youth.

However, now I know the things that I didn't know then, and it gives me a strong sense of empathy and understanding for the people that still share that sentiment.

When you are healthy, health issues seem like a distant thing. As if it may never touch you. Then, when health issues show up on your own front step, it's amazing how quickly you take notice of them.

As a parent, I am my children's final line of defense. It is my duty to protect them, come hell or high water. As such, I make it my life's mission to protect them from the things they cannot control themselves and prepare them with knowledge to live their life well when they are grown and independent.

So, whether that is the food I set before them, the water we bathe in, or the products that we use to clean our bodies and our home, I do whatever it takes to make sure they are not exposed to things that can cause them any further harm.

I refuse to be ignorant any longer and allow my children's precious bodies to be further damaged by toxins that plague us from every front.

I understand that there is only so much that I can do. I have come to terms with that.

However, that does not mean that I cave. It just means that I fight this battle on the fronts that I am aware of and that I can control to some extent.

So, we decided to control as much as we could, for the health of our children and ourselves. This led to us buying a farm, where we had the freedom to begin doing things OUR way.

When did this begin?

2010 was the year that our change began. It started with a presentation from a friend about the toxins in our household products. Whether it was the cleaners, or the hair care and body wash products in your shower.

From that day forward, I couldn't pick up a detergent bottle or a bottle of shampoo without cringing while I read the label.

Now, the understanding of the real world implications of all those massive words, letters, and numbers finally dawned on me.

As a family living paycheck to paycheck, the only thing we could affordably do was to wait for a product to run out, before we replaced it with something natural.

We began with Laundry Detergent. Then we went on from there. Typically, I just made everything from scratch because there were so few alternatives that were truly void of toxins. Shampoo, Conditioner, Toothpaste.... our family and friends were kind, but you know they thought we'd lost our ever loving minds.

Fortunately, people are now becoming more and more aware. With this comes wonderful, creative people that want to help each other to live healthier lives. Because of this, these days, we no longer have to make every single one of these items.

What now?

Our current product line consists of Homemade Laundry Detergent, Raw Cow Milk Soap , and Lotion Bars.

I always say that before I buy a product, I look at the company as a whole. Who are they? What do they stand for? What other products do they offer?

This will tell you all you need to know about the product that they are offering you. Scrutinize me the same way! Scrutinize every company that way and vote for what you want more of with your hard earned dollars. That is truly the only way that we can affect change. To tell you the truth, if the past 2 decades have told us anything, it's that this absolutely works and is working!
